We are now able to offer VA services for you through Jim Zotti, a licensed acupuncturist. Brannick Clinic of Natural Medicine is pleased to announce the addition of James C. Zotti, Board Certified Acupuncturist, serving patients at our St Charles and LaGrange Park Locations. Jim is also an approved and authorized practitioner within the Veteran’s Administration system. If you receive VA benefits and want acupuncture outside the VA, you can ask your VA practitioner to authorize Jim directly.
Jim’s practice is focused chiefly on orthopedic issues but has been successful in working with veterans and nonveterans who are experiencing PTSD, stress, and anxiety issues. Jim has over 10 years’ experience and genuinely enjoys helping people.
If you are experiencing musculoskeletal issues, such as shoulder pain, elbow pain or low back pain, and other treatments have not resolved the issue, Jim’s treatment strategies may be your answer.
Jim has recently completed an advanced program in orthopedic acupuncture utilizing the EXSTORE™ methodology. This methodology focuses on motor point testing to identify deficiencies and muscle dysfunction, which are the causes of pain, and the loss of range of motion. Once the deficiencies are identified electro-stimulation with acupuncture needles gently releases inhibited muscles, reducing pain and restoring function.
If you are a veteran and have questions about interacting with the VA for acupuncture, contact Jim Zotti at (708) 288-2696, or jimzotti@gmail.com
You may call our front desk to schedule appointments at (630) 444-0066 x 1.
We look forward to seeing you!
Dr. M. Brannick ND, DC
What is Acupuncture?
The use of acupuncture dates back 3000 years ago. Since then, the practice of acupuncture has been refined in the use of knowledge, equipment, and technique.
Acupuncture utilizes small needles inserted into specific locations in the body. There are 12 channels that run along the surface of the body which are connected to different organs. Each channel has specific points that have specific indications and are chosen depending on the patient’s condition. The needles differ in gauge and length depending on the location and patient’s sensitivity. It works by aiding the flow of qi, the body’s vital energy. This allows the function of organs to work more efficiently and therefore alleviate symptoms. The average treatment is 45 to 90 minutes long. It starts with an interview and then the placement of the needles, which lasts for 15 to 30 minutes.
