Reiki - Energy Healing

Reiki - Energy Healing | Brannick Clinic of Natural MedicineReiki has become very popular, yet some are unfamiliar with this healing therapy. Reiki is a natural healing practice that helps to move us towards overall balance and well-being in body, mind, emotion, and spirit. It is a practice that started in Japan in the early 1900’s and has been time tested. The word Reiki means spirit energy or energy of life. Depending on the culture this spirit energy is called different names such as chi in Chinese, prana in Indian, ki in Japanese. Most cultures recognize a universal force that moves through us through the Chakras This energy can be stuck or weak due to trauma either emotional, physical, spiritual, or genetic and can be guided to be released or moved to an area of need. This is the practice of Reiki—feeling and moving of energy.

A trained practitioner is sensitive to the feel and flow of energy and can feel for blockages or areas of excess. Areas of irregularities are then brought back into balance by redirecting the flow of energy. This redirection promotes the free-flowing energy to support the body and hence promote wellbeing. Someone receiving Reiki may experience a release of emotion such as weeping, heat or release of pain or a calming. It is neither good nor bad, it is simply aligning the body’s energy for its highest and greatest good.

Typically, a person feels calm and peaceful after a session of Reiki. It is a safe and gentle treatment for anyone. Benefits can include relaxation, decreased anxiety and stress, reduced pain, improved sleep, better energy, improved focus, concentration and mental clarity, and an overall sense of wellness. I have seen patients who are going through chemotherapy have less side effects with regular sessions of Reiki. Hydration is important after a session of Reiki.

We have our own Reiki Practitioner; Arian Shogren, LMT, RMT. Many of you know she is a massage therapist but you may not aware she is also a Reiki Master Teacher which requires many hours of training.

If you are interested in experiencing this calming, centering therapy, please call the office to schedule an appointment with Arian. I really think you will enjoy it.
